"BREEZE"
Trowsnest Sterre Autumn Breeze WCI JH

Breezy finished her Junior Hunter today. She got her first pass two weeks ago, and then passed the tests yesterday and today to finish. She did a very nice job both days this weekend. The water marks yesterday were in a stick pond with lots of distracting branches, and today her last bird landed pretty deep in the reeds, but she pushed in and dug it out.

"WINTER"
Ch. Amberwood Winter Wonderland JH WCI CD, Am. WCX, Nan Gordon Memorial Trophy(2007)

At the 2007 GRCC National Specialty held in Quebec July 13-16 Winter made an accomplishment of note in versatility, winning the Nan Gordon Memorial Trophy. It was the 9th time it had been won in 24 years. In order to win the award a dog must place in conformation, qualify in obedience, and qualify in a field test all at the National. Winter got a Judges Award of Merit and won the Field Dog Class, passed Novice obedience, and passed the WCI test. He did all of this owner trained and handled.

He passed three trials straight, placing in his class each trial, and winning the highest score in class with his final pass. We also managed a placement in a large Open dog class in the conformation ring under breeder-judge Janice Provenzano on the same day as pass number two!

"JESSICA"
Animation's Jessica Fletcher WC, JH

Jessica is a very special girl who I own with my good friend Carol Ethridge. Jessica started her training for hunting in May of 2007 with trainer Sandy Bond and started to trial in Sept 2007. She passed every trial with relative ease. She is a very hard working little girl who puts her nose to the grindstone and gets the job done.

Thank you to Sandy Bond for her wonderful care and training.

"ANNIE"
Animation's Annie Get Your Gun WC

Annie spent her summer training for retrieving with our trainer Sandy Bond. It was just after her first birthday that she started her training. As expected she had lots of ups and downs with her training but by the end of September she was ready to go to her first WC trail and she passed with ease. Way to go Annie!

Thank you to Sandy Bond for her wonderful care and training.

"CAELUM"
Ch. Donamor Once In A Blue Moon WCX MH

Caelum started out life as a singleton puppy (1 February 2003). After a year and a half of fun at home, he was shipped off to "boot camp" with Lorne Langevin for field training. We thought he was well socialized, but he tried running away, was scared of a 6 month old black Lab puppy and was proving to be a little embarrassing. Some of Lorne's grey hair came from realizing that this "fluffy" was a happy, but kind of goofy puppy that ran really fast, but seemed more interested in chasing butterflies or playing with his food bowl that doing serious field work. Then came the first time in water! Happy to go in, but not so proficient at swimming! I think "egg-beater" described Caelum's swimming style for a long time.

After lots, and lots, and lots of work, Caelum became a pretty good worker (with lapses for a bit of fun at Lorne's expense) and went on to earn his WC, WCI, WCX, JH, and SH. On a whim, Lorne put Caelum into a MH test, since he was entered to run SH, but had already finished. Surprise! Caelum passed. "Oh, Oh...now he has to do this five more times...what was I thinking" ran through Lorne's mind. After passing four more legs, Caelum failed on the last test at the end of 2006. We decided to send Caelum off for his championship, which he earned at the end of August 2007. With only one MH test left before the Master National, Caelum went off to Lorne for a 8 day "refresher". At the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Toronto's Hunt Test, Caelum passed his final leg and became a MH. Heady with this success, we heard "now you have to enter him in the Master National!". Without much more training, John Mairs handled Caelum at the MN tests in Brighton, ON. Twenty-four dogs started, and over the five days, Caelum steadily passed each test. Unfortunately, he was the only one of the twelve dogs that made it to the last series to not pass. The stick pond was just too difficult, and he hadn't really any experience in that kind of water.

We're still thrilled to have a Golden make it to this level - thanks especially to Lorne Langevin for all of his hard work.

Eva started her show career in the 12-18 month class and consistently won reserve winners bitch 8 out of 10 times before she started to earn points. Once she started to earn her points there was no looking back and she finished with ease in just a few more shows. Thank you to Carol Froats for her excellent care and handling.
